I just got my batch of DVD's in the mail yesterday & felt like a kid in a candy store. I'm glad I opened my email up this evening after I got off work so that I could catch you guys making some music. I enjoyed it, and Hey Doug, I appreciate all the stuff you throw out there, and I dig your playing. Thanks to you both, & look forward to seeing ya'll again soon!!
ReplyDeleteHeres the thing; love it, I had the same idea but we jam 3 nights a week at clubs. Consider grabbing several friends for this! also the load time cost me most of the show, I signed in on time but by the time your player loaded I got half a song.
ReplyDeleteHi, Doug! Great idea, but my Dell E6400 (veryfast) connected at 54mps never got past the "starting" screen...the green line was progressing, but after 12 minutes and no action I just lost interest. Sorry...any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteCraig

Doug is a phenomenal guitarist. His control is amazing and his sound terrific! As hard as I try I could not be that good! He's an inspiration to me as a guitarist. His originality and his flavoring are impeccable! Keep on doing it Doug!
ReplyDeleteStill not loading the video after 10 minutes. How much outgoing bandwith is you provider allowing. I guess you are getting too many hits for me to view the show here in Dallas.
ReplyDeletenice one Doug... cool idea to do this. Like you said, the next one will be better!
ReplyDeleteCool idea! Enjoyed watching the jam too. I always get inspired by watching other players. Might be cool if you guys mapped out the progressions and email them before the "live jam", that way everyone could follow along.
ReplyDeleteI saw nothing but a black screen with no sound at 8:45 PM EST. Was this cancelled ?
ReplyDeleteDoug, great show, would like to see mor slow country songs and some finger pickin. keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteMike
Doug and Mitch;
ReplyDeleteYou guys are bringing it. It is well appreciated.
Keep it coming.
I'm a guitaraholic and I can't get enough.....
Thanks for being so selfless.........
Until next time.....
Great stuff! Inovative format with superb chops. Can't wait till the next one.
ReplyDeleteDid anyone see anything. I just got a black screen with no sound. 2 different browsers.
ReplyDeleteDamn it, Damn it I can't connect!!!!!!! I missed the thing! SHIT!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis was fun (but too brief). I've got my laptop patched into the same Marshall my pedalboard goes into so I've got great live sound. I've read comments that a drummer would be nice and that's a given. Anyway from my point of view tonight was a sucess.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
black screen here
ReplyDeleteDouble Shit Dougie, missed the damn thing
ReplyDeleteNice Jam. Good to see ypu live. the first ten minutes were great. After that it was all lag. What a shame, it was sounding great!! Don't know if you had too many hits on your site or what. Your friend playing Bass is awsome. Will look forward to the next live JAM !!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for being so devoted
Peace out JAMES
Nice Job. Turn Mitch Loose on the Bass. (LOL) The first 15 mins. were great, after that you lagged like crazy. Hope to see a lot more of this in the near future. Thank you Doug and Mitch. You guy's are the best.
ReplyDeletePeace out James
Great show! I saw the whole thing with zero lag. Looking forward to future shows!
ReplyDeleteGary Gerloff
Fantastic! I really enjoyed your show. Laid back and entertaining. You should take a tour, hard to find more talented country rock guys.
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Peter from Sweden
Brilliant playing as always. What a cool idea. MAN, I gotta go practice now.
ReplyDeleteWow - awesome. I'll be at the next one! Doug, you've got some mad chops.
ReplyDeleteHey! Now that the trial web session has been introduced, what is the game plan for future live web session? Are they going to be more instructional? For example, would you consider explaining the creativity side of your soloing? Perhaps illustrating the licks taught in your DVD packages combined with your creativity? You said it best in one of your videos, "don't just learn the licks, get creative with them." I really appreciate your teaching/generosity and really look forward to future live web sessions.
ReplyDeleteHi Doug, caught your double act, loved every minute of it, great music and very well played for an unrehearst show, i am now looking forward to your next one, keep your head held high and i wish you all the very best in 2010. Henry.
ReplyDelete1st free videos and now free webinars???? You guys have taken it over the top! What's next, you guys knockin on my door?
ReplyDeleteI couldn't get in on the live performance as it was to busy. But I watched the recording. A million thanks for doing that. Great stuff!!
Dude,
ReplyDeleteAwesome. Let me just say, when you come this way, ontario, you're staying at my house.
mark
Hi, sounds like a great idea especially if this becomes interactive. But please remember your European viewers, could you from time to time, say once a month, do such a session in the afternoon at your place. Over here we might have a chance to view it all live !!
ReplyDeleteCheers & keep on rocking !
Laurens
Very Very Nice. Keep up the good work
ReplyDeleteDoug,
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to have a bass player and rhythm section to play with. I play in a band that has a bass player and drummer but they may as well not be there because they can't carry the rhythm worth shit. In one of your sessions can you emphasize the importance of a good rhythm section and maybe make some suggestions as to what can be done to improve it. Thanks.
I wasn't able to catch the live show but just finished watching the replay. Oh boy, that was some kind of good. What a great format. It was like having a private house concert. Thanks. If I had to describe in one word what I heard, I would have to say 'Slippery'.
ReplyDeleteHey Doug and Mitch, thanks much for doing a replay of last nights show. Sad to say but I missed it because of having to get up for work at 3:30 in the morning. Anyways, great idea, it was thoroughly enjoyable. It felt like we were all in the same room having a jam. Look forward to seeing more.
ReplyDeleteJim

Great idea Doug, look forward for more. Love Mitch's bass playing. like to see you jam some old sixties and seventies country. like to learn some of those old riffs from the old style country too.
ReplyDeleteCheers from Mark Hunter. mark.hunter1@bigpond.com
Awesome as always. Keep teaching, you're helping to bring up the level of playing for a whole lotta guys out there. ( and girls too )
ReplyDeleteword. that was coool. I have been learning a lot from your dvds. watched it a couple times nice.
ReplyDeleteThat was very cool! Too bad it cuts off right in the middle of the jam. Love the informal vibe of the whole thing. I really enjoy seeing great musicians just being spontaneous, having fun, and doing what they do. I even like the banter.
ReplyDeleteMy suggestion is just to keep it fun, informal, and let it happen. Do whatever you want to do with it. It'll be interesting to see how the dynamic changes once it becomes interactive with the viewers. Looking forward to viewing the next one live. Way to go, gentlemen!
Great show Guys! Looking forward to more. That country pickin is off the the hook!! Keep it coming.
ReplyDeleteThis is what its all about, music man, music! Thanks Doug & Mitch!
ReplyDeleteyou the man doug and the bass player is awesome.

ReplyDeleteNice job Doug. This is the guitarist for Grammy Award winners Tavares. You are a talent given from God, I can feel it, as well as your bass player. I enjoy listening to you. You are fluid and you have some very tasty chops. Keep going, I enjoy... God bless
ReplyDeletehey Doug, awesome!!!! how could I get that sound on a cyber twin? Thanks
ReplyDeleteYou guys sound really good! My son and I watched and really enjoyed it! Great concept.

Hey Doug I loved it. I sent the notice to a couple of my friends. You are such an inspiration. Just wanted to let you know I am almost finished with the hotter licks series. Great stuff.
ReplyDeleteBob Figlo
Great idea! Post some charts, maybe? I know the changes to the Merle tune are pretty straight forward, but the jam had a few twists and turns which would be good to see on paper.
ReplyDeleteDoug this is the best idea and a great way to bring your fans closer. Thanks to hi-def and PC_TV connections we can bring you into our livingroom. Only thing missing is being able to talk back to ya - and it sounds like chat may be coming soon. Thank you so much and lookign forward to the next installment! PS - looking forward to some Wampler Pedal news....
ReplyDeleteI think it's awesome and will be here everytime! It's about time someone done this.
ReplyDeleteThat was AWESOME! I missed the live performance but I just watched your flash video. One question, How can I download the flash video?
ReplyDeleteGreat jam Doug.Is there a video that would show me some of the chords you played.I took jazz lessons, but applying them in this style is another story.Im having transitioning problems.your very fortunate to have a bass player like Mitch. He knows where your going.I think some improvising lessons would be pretty cool.I can play the riffs just can't put them togeather!
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff guys!
ReplyDeleteHey Doug, can we have some more of your blues playing please.
Cheers,
Chris
Hi Guys brilliant idea and awsome jamming. You guys really blend well together. Thanks for posting replay Doug as I am in UK and we are 5hrs ahead of you so chances are by the time I receive details of an event it will already have past.
